Affiliate Disclosure
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one of these links and make a purchase, we may earn a commission — at no extra cost to you. This is how Tool Breakdown stays free to read.
How it works
When you click an affiliate link and complete a purchase, the vendor pays us a commission for the referral. This is standard practice across software review sites. The price you pay is identical whether or not you use our link.
Which programs we participate in
Tool Breakdown participates in the Commission Junction (CJ) affiliate network. Current affiliate programs include:
- Intego (security software)
- Kaspersky (security software)
- NordPass (password manager)
- Proton (Proton Pass, VPN, and related products)
- RoboForm (password manager)
- Surfshark (VPN)
- UPDF (PDF editor)
We also display advertising via Google AdSense.
Does this affect our recommendations?
No — and here's why you can hold us to it:
- Rankings come first. Every verdict is decided by our test data and methodology, published in the article and on our How We Test page, before any affiliate relationship is considered.
- No pay-to-play. A vendor cannot pay to move up, and a competitor cannot pay to move us down. If a product we promote stops earning a commission, we still recommend it when the data says it's the right choice.
- Full transparency. Every page with affiliate links carries a disclosure banner, and this page lists every program we're in.
If you ever believe a recommendation was influenced by money rather than data, tell us at hello@toolbreakdown.com and we'll investigate.
